Preferred Supplier Program
Development of a Preferred
Supplier Program will provide multiple opportunities for our
organization. Once identified, this program will unify the efforts of
purchasing, inventory control, training, sales, and marketing.
Using a select group to help identify and establish the primary
vendors and with the input from all, we would like to identify vendors
in this program for today and future ventures.
We can provide the direction we would like to steer our corporate
sales and marketing effort.
ISSI’s commitment to select vendors will help secure the best volume
buying levels and additional inventory programs available. We all
realize that we cannot limit our efforts to only key vendors, but what
we can do is focus our efforts with them.
Preferred Supplier
Program overview
•We will implement a program where a formal request
to identify a preferred supplier for a particular product or
area can be routed and have managements full support before
the process begins. This will be a web based form, yet to be
designed.
•These requests can be generated from anywhere within
the organization.
•Approval of the project will be required.
•After approval, projects will be assigned and
prioritized.
-
•Identify the suppliers that we currently
deal with on these issues.
-
•Identify additional acceptable potential
suppliers.
-
•Identify internal expertise available.
-
•From the available personnel, identify a
team captain and the team which will charged
with the task of identifying the Preferred
supplier for the assigned product or area.
•The review team should consist of
three members, typically a representative
from the materials group and two to four
participants from the branch level depending
on the number of branches affected by any
recommendation made.
•After the review team has completed
their task a written report and
recommendation will be required to be routed
for management approval prior to any program
being implemented.
